Diploma in Oil and Gas Drilling Technology

The oil industry, also known as the Oil Patch, encompasses the global processes of petroleum product exploration, extraction, refining, transportation (often via oil tankers and pipelines), and marketing. The industry’s two most important products are fuel oil and gasoline (petrol). Petroleum is critical to many industries and is required for the continued existence of industrial civilization in its current form, making it a critical concern for many nations. Oil accounts for a significant portion of global energy consumption. The petroleum industry refines crude oil and converts natural gas into a variety of products.

The petroleum industry is divided into three sections: upstream, midstream, and downstream.

E&E is located upstream (exploration and extraction). This includes looking for underwater and underground natural gas or crude oil fields, as well as drilling exploration wells and drilling into existing wells to recover oil and gas.
The transportation, storage, and processing of oil and gas are referred to as midstream. Once the resources have been recovered, they must be transported to a refinery, which is frequently located in a completely different geographic region than the oil and gas reserves. Tanker ships, pipelines, and trucking fleets are all examples of transportation.
The filtering of raw materials obtained during the upstream phase is referred to as downstream. This includes the refining of crude oil and the purification of natural gas. Marketing and commercial distribution of these products to consumers and end users in a variety of forms, including natural gas, diesel oil, gasoline, lubricants, kerosene, jet fuel, asphalt, heating oil, and LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), and a variety of other petrochemicals.
